The Federal Reserve has issued new
rules regarding Overdraft Protection for people using ATMs and
Debit Cards. These new rules begin to go into effect August
15, 2010.
This month, we will be sending a
letter to all members that have checking accounts as most of these
have debit cards attached to them. These Debit Card users should
have overdraft protection on their accounts currently. Please read
the letter carefully as it will explain the effect of these new laws
and your options. If you want to Opt-In for this overdraft
protection then you will have to respond using the opt-In form in
the attachment. You need to respond to this letter as soon as
possible.
Remember . . . if you do not
respond, you will lose your Overdraft Privilege service for ATM and
Debit Card transactions. The choice is yours. You need to act
NOW!
